Greedy Algorithm

A greedy algorithm is a problem-solving approach that makes a sequence of choices, each of which looks optimal at the moment. It works by choosing the best possible option (the “greedy choice”) at each step in the hope that it leads to a globally optimal solution. The greedy paradigm consists of four steps:

  1. Clearly define the problem and understand its greedy properties.
  2. Make the greedy choice by choosing the best option based on some criteria at each step.
  3. Solve the subproblems by reducing the problem size after making a choice.
